What to expect at your first visit

Initial Consultation

Your first appointment includes a comprehensive health assessment — Dr. Truth will take time to understand your full health history, your current condition and your treatment goals before recommending an approach.

First Treatment

Your initial consultation includes your first treatment. Most patients notice a meaningful change after their very first session — whether that’s reduced pain, improved mobility or a sense of calm and clarity.

Treatment Plan

Dr. Truth will recommend a tailored treatment plan based on your presentation. Most conditions respond well within 4–6 sessions — with complex or chronic cases requiring a longer course of care.

Frequently Asked Questions

How long is a treatment?

Initial consultations are 60 minutes and include your first treatment. Follow-up appointments are 45 minutes.

Does acupuncture hurt?

Most patients are surprised at how comfortable acupuncture is. You may feel a mild sensation when the needle is inserted, but this passes quickly. Motor point needling with electrostimulation produces a gentle pulsing sensation which most patients find therapeutic.

How many sessions will I need?

This depends on your condition and how long you’ve had it. Acute issues often resolve in 3–4 sessions. Chronic conditions typically require 6–10 sessions. Dr. Truth will give you a clear treatment plan at your first appointment.

Is it covered by private health insurance?

Yes — acupuncture is covered by most Australian private health funds under extras cover. Check with your insurer for your specific rebate amount. Dr. Truth is a registered AHPRA practitioner.

Where are you located?

We practice in both Byron Bay and Lennox Head, serving patients across the Northern Rivers including Ocean Shores, Brunswick Heads, Ballina and Mullumbimby. Exact clinic addresses will be available when you book.
